About Michelle
I'm a product designer with experience creating accessible, user-centered digital experiences across fintech, healthcare, and B2B SaaS. I was born in Manila and grew up in Virginia near Washington D.C. I earned a BFA in graphic design at George Mason University and later received a UX Certificate from the Nielsen Norman Group.
I specialize in making complex systems accessible and intuitive. I've built WCAG-compliant design systems, conducted user research, and worked closely with engineers to bring ideas to life. Lately, I've been teaching myself to code and exploring how AI is reshaping our industry, which helps me have more meaningful conversations about what we're building and why.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me reading mystery novels, playing pickleball, biking, or planning my next trip. Traveling and connecting with people from different parts of the world is inspiring and it reminds me why designing for diverse users matters.
Side Quests
01
Indie Book Author
In 2018, I wrote, designed, and published a book called Inside Fandoms and Conventions as a guide to fans and first time comic con goers. Whether you’re a fan or simply want to understand fandom culture, you will find valuable information in this book.
02
Traveler
Every since I was young, I’ve always been curious about the world. This was at "Elephant Sanctuary" in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Despite their size, the elephants were adorable and gentle. So far, I’ve been to over 20 countries and counting!
03
Taekwondo
I learned Taekwondo with my friends in Seoul. It required a lot of energy and kicking. Taekwondo's philosophy focuses on discipline, self-improvement, and perseverance, and I've grown a lot from this experience.
